Dieline & Structural Design
Accurate dielines and structures ready for production.

What is dieline & structural design?
A dieline is the flat template that shows where a box is cut, folded and glued. Structural design engineers the box shape, closure and inserts around your product.
What you get
- Understand your product, audience and brand
- Concepts and revisions until you're happy
- Production-ready files and dielines
- Physical prototype before bulk
- Seamless handover to printing and production
What is a dieline?
A dieline is the flat, unfolded template of a box. It shows exactly where the board will be cut (solid lines), folded or creased (dashed lines) and glued. Your artwork is placed on the dieline so every panel prints in the right place and lines up perfectly when the box is folded.
What structural design involves
- Choosing the box style, closures and locking mechanisms.
- Calculating internal dimensions with the right allowance for your product and inserts.
- Designing inserts, partitions and windows.
- Engineering the board grade for strength and stacking.
- Testing the structure with a physical sample.
Common dieline mistakes to avoid
- Artwork without bleed beyond the cut lines.
- Text or logos placed across folds or glue flaps.
- Using external dimensions when internal ones are needed.
- Forgetting board thickness in tight-fitting boxes.
We check every dieline and artwork file before printing to catch these issues.
Frequently asked questions
What is a dieline used for?
A dieline is the template that guides cutting, creasing and gluing, and shows where artwork must be placed on each panel.
Do you provide dielines for my box?
Yes. We create accurate dielines for your box size and structure.
Can I design my artwork on your dieline?
Yes. We share the dieline file so you or your designer can place artwork correctly.
What is the difference between a cut line and a crease line?
Cut lines show where the board is cut through; crease lines show where it is scored so it folds cleanly.
